ATP Vegeta Croatia Open Umag: Marin Cilic and Tommy Robredo through to last eight

Home favourite Marin Cilic eased into the quarter-finals of the Croatia Open Umag with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Igor Sijsling.

The Wimbledon quarter-finalist dominated on serve, sending down 11 aces as he wrapped up the win in a little over an hour.

Third seed Cilic is aiming for a second title in Umag having won the event back in 2012. He has a formidable record in his home country having also won the Zagreb Indoors four times.

He will next face No 5 seed Lukas Rosol, who raced away from Pere Riba in the second set to record a 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 win in the second round.

Defending champion Tommy Robredo also booked a place in the last eight, the second seed edging out fellow Spaniard Albert Ramos 6-4 6-4.

Robredo will face another of his compatriots in the quarter-finals as Pablo Carreno Busta won via a walkover against Carlos Berlocq.
