Top seed David Ferrer dropped just one game as he breezed into Sunday's bet-at-home Open final in Hamburg, where he will face Leonardo Mayer.

Spaniard Ferrer had no difficulty in sealing a place in the tournament's championship match, defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-0 6-1.

The 32-year-old World No 7 will next take on Mayer after he caused a mild upset by beating seventh seed Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The German World No 26 had been favourite to progress to Sunday's final, but was beaten 7-5 6-4 by the 27-year-old Argentinian, who is yet to win a singles career title.
