Klara Zakopalova upset top seed Samantha Stosur in the semi-finals of the Hobart International on Friday.

The world No 37 earned an emphatic 6-3 6-2 victory over the Australian, whose error-stricken performance cost her the match.

However, Stosur suffered a nose bleed right before going on court which led to a 10-minute delay while the doctor checked her blood pressure.

The Czech player went on to convert all five of her break points while saving eight out of the 10 that Stosur created.

Stosur, known for her big serve, only managed to send down one ace in the 86-minute match. She now only has a 3-2 record over the lower-ranked Czech and they are due to meet in upcoming Australian Open.

Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, Garbine Muguruza comfortably defeated fellow Spaniard Estrella Cabeza Candela 6-0 6-1 to set up Saturday's final with Zakopalova.
