Czech third seed Lucie Safarova clinched the fifth title of her career courtesy of a 6-4 6-3 victory over Marina Erakovic in the final of the WTA Bell Challenge in Quebec City.
Safarova, ranked 48th, broke her 2013 trophy drought and landed the $235,000 first prize after breaking Erakovic's serve on five occasions and relinquishing her own just once.
Czech left-hander Safarova was a beaten finalist in Quebec four years ago but she made amends this time around with victory in only 89 minutes.
Erakovic certainly had her chances and was left to rue only being able to take one of six break points that came her way.
The Croatia-born New Zealander has now won one and lost three of her four WTA finals.
