Top seed and defending champion David Ferrer reached the final of the Copa Claro with a straight-sets victory over fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo.

Ferrer, the world number four, prevailed 6-3 6-2 for his sixth win in eight career meetings with Robredo.

He will take on third seed Stanislas Wawrinka for the title in Buenos Aires on Sunday after spoiling a reprise of last year's final between Spanish duo Ferrer and Nicolas Almagro.

Second-seeded Almagro was denied the chance to put his 2012 defeat behind him as he slipped to a 6-3 7-5 loss at the hands of Switzerland's Wawrinka in the later semi-final.
