Top seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic will play Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final of ATP Marseille Open.

Berdych had little trouble in seeing off the challenge of Russian Dmitry Tursunov in the semi-finals, securing a 6-2 6-1 victory.

Tursonov had produced some fine tennis in Marseille this week to emerge from qualifying and into the last four, but he was unable to deal with the challenge presented by the world No 6.

Berdych lost only nine points on his own serve and frequently punished his opponent with a series of superb returns.

Tsonga, the third seed, also had a comfortable semi-final victory, beating fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-2 6-2.

Tsonga was ruthless on his opponent's serve and converted four out of his 10 break points to set up the win.

Simon had his chances in the match, securing three break points of his own, but failed to convert any of them.

Tsonga will be looking for a repeat win in a tournament he first won back in 2009.

Berdych will be seeking a ninth career title on Sunday against Tsonga, who he leads 4-1 in previous meetings - including three victories last season.
