Marc Lopez and Marcel Granollers claimed a 7-5 3-6 10-3 victory over Mahesh Bhupati and Rohan Bopanna to win the doubles title at the ATP World Tour Finals.

The Spaniards edged a tight first set before being pegged back in the second, but dominated the match tie-break to secure the crown at the O2 Arena.

The opening set was a back and forth affair which included three breaks of serve, with sixth seeds Lopez and Granollers striking the decisive blow in the 11th game.

Indian duo Bhupati and Bopanna showed plenty of fight in the second set, however, and looked to have the momentum in their favour heading into the match tie-break.

But it was Lopez and Granollers who surged into a big lead, bringing up six match points before completing the win in one hour and 30 minutes.

The winning pair will now go on to the Davis Cup final against Czech Republic, while Bhupathi was left to reflect on a fifth defeat in the final of the ATP's season-ending event.
