Heather Watson has told Sky Sports she hopes her success at the Japan Open will encourage youngsters to start playing tennis.

Junior glory

Both Watson and Robson showed their obvious potential at junior level, winning the US Open and Wimbledon respectively. "It's a very tough transition to make from the juniors to the seniors," Watson admitted. "Few are able to make that transition, so I'm please I was able to do it so quickly. "After winning the junior grand slam title I expected a lot of myself and to be able to do well on the tour. "To get this first title under my belt is great for me; it will motivate me going into the new year."
