Sabine Lisicki raced through to the semi-finals of the Prudential Hong Kong Open where she will meet 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone.
The German, who received a wild card to play in the tournament, has struggled for form this year but she cruised to a 6-4 6-3 win against Zheng Saisai on Friday.
Apart from a run to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon she has had very little to cheer, but the the 24-year-old is now just two matches away from winning her fourth WTA singles title.
Francesca Schiavone stands in her way in the semis after the 34-year-old Italian bridged a 21-place gap in the rankings to dump seventh seed Jana Cepelova out 6-2 6-2.
In the other side of the draw Karolina Pliskova and Alison van Uytvanck will fight for a place in Sunday's final.
Third seed Pliskova beat Van Uytvanck earlier this year at the Nurnberger Versicherungscup and she will fancy her chances after she made light work of Zheng Jie 6-1 6-3 on Friday.
Belgian Van Uytvanck booked her place in the semis with a routine 6-4 6-2 over qualifier Jarmila Gajdosova.
