This didn't look a vintage renewal beforehand with no horse shorter than 33-1 for the 1,000 Guineas and there was only the tiniest of ripples in the ante-post market for the Classic afterwards. Sky Bet introduced the winner CAPE DOLLAR into the 1,000 Guineas market at 25-1, but it's hard to imagine them being knocked over as this was nothing more than a hard-fought victory against fillies that are a long way off the likes of White Moonstone and Misty For Me in terms of class. I Love Me travelled the best of the lot but she couldn't match the winner off the bridle up the hill with Cochabamba pipping her for second on the line. Perhaps the one to take out of the race is Clive Brittain's Nabah, who only made her debut at Kempton five days ago. She was backed in from 66-1 to 22-1 and despite running green and being unbalanced on the track at times, finished with a real flourish to take fourth. A slight drop in grade, maybe to listed level, should see her gain some valuable black type.
