A very competitive way to kick off day two of the Ebor meeting and not too many of these can confidently be ruled out. However, Akshar will be a popular choice judged on his earlier efforts this season and he is expected to confirm recent form with Samhari, who still has a little to prove despite meeting his rival on more favourable terms this time. Howle Hill is a smart performer but may be better with more cut in the ground, so Wannabe Around may the one for each way thieves to pick off the bones for the final chunk of place money. The five-year-old goes on any ground and could have the race run to suit if he adopts his customary pace-setting role. Silence Is Golden would also have to be a serious consideration but his tendency to start slowly can leave him with too much to do in the latter stages of his races. Therefore the progressive Akshar may be the safest option for win only purposes today.
