In depth

Verdict

Probably a race to watch with a view to next year but SUD PACIFIQUE kept on well enough on debut at Newcastle and while backers on that day will have been disappointed, the compensation awaits this afternoon. Palitana was nicely backed ahead of her debut at Doncaster so has clearly shown something worthwhile on the gallops beforehand. Heart Beat Song is an interesting sort as her dam was a very tough competitor during her days on the course. Seelo is a particularly well bred individual who could be forgiven for needing a first run if the pedigree serves as any guide. Cadore took part in a particularly hot Newmarket contest on debut and one would imagine that this race is not likely to produce anything of that ilk today. Henry Cecil won this race last year so Specific Gravity is not ignored.
