Verdict

Pinchbeck has proved a most progressive performer rattling up wins at Carlisle, Haydock and Ripon in smooth style. The Michael Jarvis-trained colt has paid the price and is now 9lb higher than his latest victory but there may be further improvement to come from this likeable son of Petong. Blushing Spur had Port St Charles behind when a comfortable winner at Goodwood (now 6lb higher) and should give another good acccount while Princes Street looks ready to strike after a fair effort at Yarmouth last time being just 1lb higher.
