Verdict

Richard Hannon's got three runners in this race, the pick of which looks to be GIULIETTA DA VINCI, and we'll side with her ahead of stablemate Reach For The Sky and Anjomarba. Giuletta Da Vinci's nursery debut last time out can be ignored as there was a lot of trouble in running for a number of them, and she finished well down the field, after previously winning her maiden in eye-catching style. This is a drop down in trip from what she's been used to, and a step down in grade. On the evidence of her first few outings she'll be very handy at this sort of level, and with Richard Hughes on board, looks to be the stable's main hope. That's not to rule out the chances of the much better drawn Reach For The Sky or Folletta. The latter's best effort to date came when runner up last time out in a better race than this. She's prone to tail-swishing and has been said to be a bit lazy, but she's certainly got ability. Reach For The Sky hasn't progressed as hoped after winning first time out, and although she ran in the Newbury Super Sprint, she was well down the field. This is a significant step down in class, and from her high draw she ought to be involved. Anjomarba may be in the grip of the handicapper after winning a hat-trick of sellers earlier in the summer, only to be unplaced in a couple of subsequent nurseries. A drop to this sort of class though could see her more competitive once more though. Over the years this contest has thrown up some big priced winners, with the shortest being 9/2, so the market may not give us many clues. In the absence of them, we're happy to side with Giulietta Da Vinci.
