In depth

Verdict

AFRICAN BROADWAY never really fulfilled his undoubted potential over hurdles, despite winning at Chepstow and Exeter. But it should be a different matter for David Pipe's former pointer over fences and he's the one to beat in this if his jumping is up to scratch. Imperial Circus is another to have made the long trip up from the West Country and he can build on some decent form over the smaller obstacles last season but Muldoon's Picnic and Rossmore Lad are best watched until showing signs of a revival, though the latter easily beat Chac Du Cadran over timber at Towcester in March. See What Happens won a novice hurdle at Carlisle just under a year ago but hasn't been seen since.
