Verdict

The market must be scrutinised before taking a view on this finale but it's probably a good guide that Alan King has a one in three strike rate with his bumper horses at this track so we're coming down on the side of SALMANAZAR. A £10,000 purchase, he's from the same family as classy chaser Le Roi Miguel so certainly has the right credentials. Victor Dartnall's runners are always worth a second look in bumpers so Menintights has to go on the short-list, while Tell Me Y was one of only two rides for AP McCoy at the overnight stage. Pearls Legend has an interesting pedigree and may be best of the rest.
