Verdict

The shortlist here consists of Cetti's Warbler, Shining Lights, Monita des Bois and Pougatcheva, with the vote going to Cetti's Warbler. The selection will like today's conditions and won her novice event before performing with credit in handicap company at Newbury last time. She looks to have a good attitude for this game and has a good chance of getting back to winning ways today. Pougatcheva showed promise on her chasing debut last time and, from a good yard, has to be afforded respect, although Sam Thomas is aboard the French import Monita des Bois from the same stable. From the Martin Pipe camp, Shining Lights ran well behind subsequent big-handicap winner Colourful Life at Bangor in October and, despite falling last time, has to be afforded all due respect at this level. Overall, though, Cetti's Warbler gets the call.
