In depth

Verdict

Most Definitely is given the tentative nomination in the finale with Blackthorn and Moonshine Beach the others to consider. The selection will be suited by this faster surface after a fair effort on ground that had too much cut at Redcar last time when he finished behind Lucky Judge. He is not the easiest to win with and as finished as a runner-up on six occasions, but he could go close here with the trip and ground both in his favour. Blackthorn ran well behind Illeana at Newcastle last time when a fast finishing third but he is unproven over this trip and for that reason he is passed over. Moonshine Beach finished last in a competitive handicap at Ascot last time, but he would have a chance on his two previous wins and he is eased in grade slightly here. Paddy Mull has been running consistently of late and is another with a decent each-way chance, but for the winner we will stick with Most Definitely.
