In depth

Verdict

Red Cape was tackling decent opposition when down the field at Ripon last time and has claims on his earlier win on this surface at Newcastle. Invincible Lad is dangerously well handicapped and it will be a surprise if connections don't find a race for him before the season is out, while Mayoman also has plenty going for him and is back on a winning mark. HAAJES usually starts to find his form at this time of year, however, and his narrow defeat at Beverley five days ago suggests his turn is near again. Paul Midgley's seven-year-old can reverse Newcastle running with Red Cape and go one better today. Mey Blossom and Go Go Green may be the pick of the remainder.
