In depth

Verdict

There looks to be a fair bit of dead wood in this opener but NEW VENNTURE probably still has untapped potential so we’ll take a chance that Harry Fry’s filly is ready for this after a break. She was quite highly tried in a couple of runs around this time last year and has been given more time to acclimatise. Beau Du Brizais was in touch when falling at Warwick last month and then wasn’t beaten far here so has to go on the short-list. Seamus Mor hails from a yard going well while Thomas Blossom beat Ice Konig at Exeter in October, though there is nothing between them on today’s revised terms.
