In depth

Verdict

There is very little in the way of form to go on here but, that said, from a shortlist including Baffling Secret, Blue Tiger, Captain Can Can, Sunny Brook and The Yellow Earl, we will opt for Baffling Secret. As we say, there is little in the way of form to go on but Baffling Secret is from the Len Lungo stable and certainly showed promise on his debut, when sixth at Perth in May, so has to be considered at this level. Mick Easterby's Blue Tiger also showed promise on his debut, while Captain Can Can has interesting Flat breeding and is one of those to look out for in the betting. A similar comment applies to Malcolm Jefferson's The Yellow Earl, so pay him some respect, and, being from the Sue Smith stable, Sunny Brook, who will come here race fit, is another that has to be considered. It is curious that Aschenmoor is blinkered for the first time on his debut, so give the market the once over with regard to him but, for us, the selection is Baffling Secret.
