Verdict

This should concern Very Tasty, Cumwhitton and Alpine Hideaway, with the vote going to Very Tasty. Upped 11lb for his Cartmel win last time out, Martin Todhunter's charge will find this tougher. However, the opposition is not strong, and the manner of that recent success indicated that there was a bit more to come at this level, so with trip and ground to his liking he can follow up here. Cumwhitton has not been the most consistent of hurdlers so far, but in the context of this poor race her fourth to Faddad at Uttoxeter last time out would give her some sort of chance, though we see the frame as her most realistic hope. Old man of the party Alpine Hideaway will be no back number here despite top weight. A confirmed fast ground lover, he was just held off by In Discussion last time he was seen out over the sticks and he looks more than capable of putting up another god performance and can also take home some prize money, but for the winner we return to Very Tasty.
