    Verdict

Many can be considered but the vote in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes goes to Classic Encounter. The official assessor says there is not too much between many of these today, the line-up including the Mill Reef fifth Racer Forever (Ajigolo was sixth there and is two pounds worse off for a head, and Hot was seventh and has a head and a neck to find) and the form has been franked since by Cool Creek; the Molecomb runner-up Pickett, the Flying Childers runner-up Hunter Street - and he's seven pounds better off with Godfrey Street for three-quarters-of-a-length from that race, the Norfolk Stakes third Classic Encounter, and recent impressive Ayr winner Curtail. Add to this Jeanmaire who was an unlucky loser behind Curtail at Ayr and this smart filly should not be ruled out of things being a pound better off for just short of three lengths. However, for today's selection, we will stick with Classic Encounter, who is less exposed than many and should have better to come.
