Verdict

Rosetown is taken to complete a hat-trick at the expense of Irish raider She's My Girl, with Spectacular, Keep Smiling and Billy Two Rivers likely to make their presence felt. Tom George has his team in fine fettle again and can make the journey up from Glocestershire pay off with Rosetown who appears to on the upgrade judged by the way that he defied an 8lb rise at Newton Abbot last time. The six-year-old had earlier opened his account in a weak affair at Exeter, and although this is much tougher, he should be up to the task with conditions in his favour. A bit of rain would help his cause but he can defy another 7lb hike up the weights. He gets 4lb from She's My Girl who made all of the running on her last visit to the Scottish track at the start of the month. Since then she has been beaten at Navan when trying similar tactics, and the longer trip today may find her out. However, she has not had a lot of racing over the past two years since having a foal and should be there or thereabouts. Spectacular looked very one-paced at Hexham last time, while Keep Smiling was thought good enough to be sent off favourite at Newton Abbot in May but disappointed. A change of stables may rekindle his enthusiasm, and he makes slightly more appeal than Billy Two Rivers who was easily brushed aside at Hexham last month. Rosetown can win again before the handicapper gets a grip.
