In depth

Verdict

EMPIRE LEVANT has much more to do than when beating Speed Steed at Doncaster but that was his debut over fences and there's much more to come. He gets the nod over Kapga De Cerisy, who completed a double at Sandown before finding Cheltenham's Byrne Group Plate too much for him. Theatre Guide pulled up in that same event but is very much better than he showed and enters the reckoning on his earlier form. Marshal Zhukov has been competing at a very high level since his two early victories over fences and will appreciate this drop in grade.
