Weather Permitting can open his account with victory coming at the main expense of Silly Wupple and Archie Gunn. The selection shaped quite well in a heavy ground bumper on debut before taking the eye at Newbury on his hurdling bow, once again in atrocious conditions. He was well held but out of his depth behind Pigeon Island at Cheltenham last time but he should be able to make the most of this drop in grade. Silly Wupple is an interesting opponent as the bumper that he won in October has worked out really well. He bled on his penultimate start but ran encouragingly last time when seemingly failing for stamina and this drop in trip could see him make a bold bid. Archie Gunn has been fairly consistent and should be involved but he has had his limitations exposed and we much prefer the claims of Weather Permitting.
