Verdict

There should be more to come from Alraased this year but Tadgh O'Shea presumably had the pick of Hamdan Al Maktoum's two runners and has opted instead for Roger Varian's newcomer Afraah. Marshgate Lane and Caption can't be ignored on debut and Gravitate is now tried in blinkers after disappointing when favourite at Ripon, though this looks more competitive. PEARL WAR also failed to justify market support on her latest start, at Lingfield in October, but that run was too bad to be true and she's been given plenty of time to recover. An earlier fourth here has worked out well and Willie Haggas' filly can recoup losses today.
