    Verdict

In a tricky opener where there is very limited form to evaluate, DANCING DAVID is taken to get the better of Blissful Moment and Knockdolian. The last named is a half brother to two winner, including four time winner Humunguous. By Montjeu, this Derby entry looks a very interesting prospect, and his trainer is certainly capable of getting one ready for his debut. Blissful Moment is also a Derby entry, and is out of a dam who is a half-sister to five winners, from the family of Fairy Footsteps. Trainer Sir Michael Stoute has been churning out the winners with great regularity recently, and he is sure to know his job. Dancing David ran a terrific race on debut, chasing home the useful and vastly more experienced Raine's Cross. Entered in the Dewhurst, the Racing Post Trophy as well as the Derby, trainer Brian Meehan is clearly expecting his charge to produce good performances as a juvenile, whereas his principal opponents may need more time to mature. Dancing David gets the vote in a race which could produce a hatful of future winners.
