Verdict

Portavadie looks the one to beat here, with Baffling Secret and Best Accolade put forward as the main dangers. Malcolm Jefferson's six-year-old ran a belter to finish runner up to Oakapple Express in a similar race to this over course and distance last time. He was a bit green in the early stages and did well to get within three-quarters of a length of that winner. The experience will not be lost on him and he can go one better this afternoon. Baffling Secret put up a baffling display at Musselburgh last time, but his previous third to Blue Buster is very good form so he deserves every respect. Best Accolade is another of the Graham Wylie purchases so should be checked out in the betting for his first run under rules. Witch Wind showed plenty of ability on his debut and may prove best of the remainder, but Portavadie appears to have the more solid form credentials and gets a confident vote.
