A reasonable maiden to start with and Fruit Salad just secures the nod ahead of Bedouin Blue and Born Slippy. Fruit Salad has had plenty of chances to break the duck but has invariably found one too good. At the race conditions, she has to be given a fair chance. The high draw is not ideal but she does have plenty of early pace and can be expected to tag along with the main pack. Bedouin Blue stayed on with promise in a maiden at the track and can be expected to show improvement. Born Slippy was a cheap purchase from the sales but Mick Quinlan is well known for getting the best out of these sorts. The colt was a little disappointing last time out in spite of significant market support. Signal Hill is a well bred son of Observatory. His trainer is in good form of late although he has only scored with 15% of his juveniles. Capitalise ran green on debut and can leave that modest run behind. Butterfly Bud appears not to have progressed. Fruit Salad secures the vote in our opener.
