In depth

Verdict

The runs of La Bacouetteuse and Sohcahtoa earlier on the card will be a clue to the chances of STORMY MORNING, whose form ties in closely with that pair. He still looks fairly treated and can return to winning ways on the Flat before resuming his career over hurdles. Strobe won over fences recently but could find a few of these have a bit more pace including Operateur, a winner over this trip at Catterick before finishing third at Newcastle. Mark Johnston's string continues in fine form so Hikma has to be respected in a first-time visor while Pertuis has sprung to life lately, though recent wins at Pontefract and Catterick have come in amateur events. Oddsmaker is a C&D winner but recent efforts suggest he is on the downgrade nowadays.
