Borrowdale is the selection in this lowly, uninspiring handicap, i preference to Gunnadoit and Loveofmylife. Jamie Osbourne's gelding won over a mile and two at Kempton last week in similar sort of company, and was running on strongly at the end, suggesting the step up in trip won't be an inconvenience. And in truth, this contest probably won¿t take a great deal of winning. Gunnadoit justified odds on favouritism at Brighton in April, but hasn't been able to follow up that victory since. He should still be much better than many of these though. And Loveofmylife makes our shortlist; Raph Beckett's filly looks the progressive sort and has a couple of places to her name at this kind of level, which is more than many of these can say. But in a race that probably won't be the evening's highlight, we'll go with Borrowdale.
