In depth

Verdict

In an interesting maiden, with plenty of the fillies seeing the racetrack for the first time, we will side with Satin Kiss, but the likes of Code Orange, Breezy and Mistraillette. Now, much as Azuree showed promise when second on her racecourse debut, she was then beaten out of sight at York next time, where something was surely amiss. It will be interesting to see how she copes with some interesting newcomers including Brian Meehan's Breezy, an Indian Ridge half-sister to Autumnal and Mazepa, John Gosden's Code Orange, a well-related daughter of Green Desert, Sir Michael Stoute's well-bred Mistraillette, Michael Jarvis's Night Of Joy, although she will need further in time, Ed Dunlop's Qawaafil, and Godolphin's Satin Kiss, a full sister to the Middle Park winner Lujain, and related to other winners too. Overall, then, it will be slightly surprising if one of the newcomers does not land this and, unless the betting tells a radically different story, this could well go to Satin Kiss.
