Verdict

Roger Varian's 175,000gns Nayef filly BUZKASHI created a good impression when third on her Newmarket debut behind Fallen For You in what looked a decent maiden and can score here over the extra furlong. She looks a certain improver and looks destined for better things. Protect, also by Nayef, represents the Stoute team that has won three of the last ten runnings of this race and her sixth place behind Kunooz at Newmarket, albeit when sent off favourite, reads well enough in the context of this contest. She also shaped well on her debut at the same venue. Amelia May and Maliha can both be expected to come on for recent efforts while all three newcomers catch the eye and should be monitored in the market.
