Verdict

Recent Wetherby winner Bedizen, who is now 9lbs higher and looks to have too much weight to carry, heads the handicap for this competitive opener on the Kempton card and a chance is taken with the lightly raced TINAGOODNIGHT, with Pearl rated the best of the rest. The selection, a French import, has only had the one start since joining Nicky Henderson but she won with plenty in hand when successful in a novice hurdle here in October and looks well treated for her handicap debut. David Pipe's Qanta de Thaix disappointed at Cheltenham last time but this is an easier contest and he cannot be discounted, while the Philip Hobbs-trained Oiseau de Nuit lost no caste in defeat at Wincanton last time and can race of the same mark today. Rosoff has run well in his last three starts but seems a shade high in the weights now and a bigger threat is likely to come from Alison Thorpe's Pearl, who has run to a decent level of form in her last two starts. Plenty of these have chances but Tinagoodnight looks well treated, comes from a stable in good from and jockey Felix de Giles is able to claim 3lbs for riding for his own stable.
