Verdict

CAPTAIN CUTTER beat Kings Palace, who has already won twice over hurdles this season, in a Listed bumper at Ascot on his debut. He was also second in a competitive affair at Punchestown in April and it will be disappointing if he can't land this. His trainer also saddles Reverb but he's looked a little one-paced so far. Jack By The Hedge has a penalty to carry courtesy of a victory at Fontwell in May and was only fifth at Exeter last month while winning pointers Mr Grey and Always Smiling may be better for the run.
