Verdict

Not a bad Novice Chase this where we think HARRY FLASHMAN's love of this track will give him the edge despite a penalty ahead of Chernik and Whatdoidowiththat. The selection has recorded two wins from three starts at this venue with the latest a cosy enough success last time out over a shorter trip. He has to give weight to all but one of his rivals but has gone well under heavier burdens over timber so should run another big race. Chernik easily landed one of these last time out staying this trip to be rewarded with a penalty to carry here. He was a winner at this venue in a weak maiden hurdle last term so we know he handles the track nicely and he should go well. Whatdoidoiththat makes his chase debut here and won three times as a very moderate hurdler with two of those victories coming at this track so he needs to be respected Toby Jug not only also makes his chase debut but his UK debut and his solid at best form back home in the Emerald Isle would have him in the mix. More intriguing stuff here where Harry Flashman can add to his terrific course record.
