Verdict

Top weight Dragon King holds strong claims here and is taken to beat Good Bone and Pewter Light. Peter Bowen's charge hasn't set the world alight this season but has still shown enough to suggest he can land this weak event. The pick of his recent efforts was a third behind Atlastaboy in a much better contest, he has been dropped in the ratings since and this appears to be his best opportunity for some time. Good Bone gained a deserved victory at Folkestone in March and although trounced last time at Plumpton, has to be considered in this weak event. It is a similar story with Pewter Light, he ran a cracker to finish a close second behind Barcham Again here, before flopping at Wincanton last month. If he's on a going day he must figure in the finish. In a very open contest Mensch and Ah Yeah have the ability to battle for the places, but for the winner we return to Dragon King.
