Verdict

The aptly named Goodwood Finesse can pay to follow over stablemate Stoop To Conquer and fellow local hope Market Leader. John Dunlop, whose team have been in fair form, has a strong hand here with the first two mentioned, and preference is for Goodwood Finesse, a winner over nine furlongs here earlier in the season. Admittedly the filly takes a big step up in distance today, but the way that she stayed on behind Wee Dinns augurs well for her chance today. She is only lightly raced so far and has the scope to excel over this sort of distance. Stoop To Conquer does stay and landed a moderate class E handicap at Pontefract the time before last. However, having to give weight away all round in this ground may be beyond him as his best efforts have been on going no softer than good. Market Leader shaped well when staying on into third at Thirsk and will come on for the run. He should get the trip and can give the selection, Goodwood Finesse, most to do.
