Verdict

Championship Point and Youmzain look to have given Mick Channon strong claims in this contest and we will side with Championship Point. Second in a listed race at Deauville - that race was held on soft going but with a sounder surface, he ran out a decisive winner at York. London Express was second at Catterick to Youmzain in a weak race and with Channon's team in form - the result could well be repeated here. Siena Storm failed to progress from a decent win in a maiden at Haydock Park. Senor Dali did not act at Newmarket on the dip and is capable of better. Championship Point looks the obvious call on this occasion and we shall not oppose the likely favourite.
