Verdict

France won this last year when Cirrus Des Aigles beat Flintshire and the latter is back for another crack. Andre Fabre's Group 1 winner did not look particularly suited to the track a year ago but he meets his old rival and compatriot DOLNIYA (NAP) on better terms today and must go close. However, Alain De Royer-Dupre's filly was the emphatic winner of the Dubai Sheema Classic in March, beating Flintshire for the second time and well ahead of Sheikhzayedroad, and the French-trained filly will take the beating on that form. Sheikhzayedroad won a Grade 1 at Woodbine in September but the remainder have yet to taste success at the highest level. Pether's Moon and Romsdal filled the places in the Group 3 John Porter at Newbury in April and are closely matched on that form but Listed winner Ayrad has plenty to find in this company.
