In depth

Verdict

SOUTHFIELD VIC made a very impressive debut in a bumper at Exeter when trained by Bob Buckler and has joined Paul Nicholls. He looks the type to go on to better things but Johnny Og disappointed at Kempton in May after an impressive debut success at Catterick. A Tail Of Intrigue came from point-to-points to run really well behind Tara Muck at Southwell but a bigger threat may emerge in the shape of Powerful Action, who caught the eye in no uncertain terms on his debut at Limerick and has joined Philip Hobbs. Radharc Nahabhainn showed little in Irish points but made a pleasing start for new connections in a Stratford bumper and can only improve while Nicky Henderson's four-year-old Take A Bow has to be respected on his debut.
