In depth

Verdict

Eamon O'Connell's Powerstation has failed to take to fences in his last two starts and may do better back over hurdles but he has plenty of weight to carry and a better bet looks to be the reappearing ANDYTOWN, who gets the vote ahead of Time Electric. The Thomas Mullins-trained gelding has run better in his last two starts with a win at Listowel followed by a decent effort when chasing home Noble Prince at Naas. He has solid claims off what seems a fair mark on his British debut and makes more appeal than Made In Japan, who has to race from 5lbs out of the handicap. Earth Planet made a pleasing return here last month when a close third behind Dragon Eye in a novices' hurdle and has every chance off a mark of 136. David Pipe's pair Great Endeavour and Comply Or Die are probably best watched at present with future races on the agenda the target and of more interest may be Green Mile. Tony Martin's gelding was pulled up over fences at Limerick last month but earlier form over hurdles is solid and he has to be considered. Lie Forrit is less exposed than most of these and is another with claims but preference is for Andytown. Nicky Henderson's gelding was good value for his win in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle at the festival this year and looks worth backing to make a winning return on a similar surface having probably found the going too quick at Aintree following that course win.
