In this Novice Hurdle it appears STAGECOACH PEARL has enough in his locker to win it while Be Brief and Palm Reader represent the main dangers. The Sue Smith trained selection was a little keen going to post on his hurdling debut last time and as a result was found wanting at the end when looking a likely winner. He's bound to have learnt from that experience and can turn his winning bumper form into winning form over timber. Be Brief has shown enough ability on his three hurdles starts that he can win a race like this and he could have already been off the mark had it not been for a bad jumping error when going well at Haydock last time out. Its turned out the fine from that race has been a little weak since but if he runs to form he's in with a chance. Palm Reader will have the burden of conceding weight all round here but he got his head in front in a similar event over course and distance last time. Although again the form line is shaky he was a little green in victory and can be expected to improve again. The bits and pieces of form around both Raider Of The East and Time For Rupert give them chances at some prize money but to win it we side with Stagecoach Pearl.
