In depth

Verdict

CUCHULAINS SON looked a very useful prospect when beating Mick The Man at Punchestown in October 2007 but injury has curtailed his career and he was absent for over two years before returning with a fine effort at Naas in March. He was in contention when falling at the last in a conditions event won by Our Gar at the Punchestown Festival and can start making up for lost time. Kauto Relko fell on both starts between the flags and on his most recent run over timber at Cork in January but had previously landed a maiden in good style at Cork and is a threat if remaining on his feet. Sinntaran is a very frustrating type having finished runner-up in seven of his 19 career starts while both of Diyla's victories have come at Sligo including in a handicap on Sunday. Midtown Boy is still a maiden over hurdles but would have a chance second-to-none if repeating his close fifth behind Some Present at Punchestown in November.
