Charlie Mann is keen to give Cedre Bleu a prep run ahead of a crack at the Crabbie's Grand National after the eight-year-old ran below par at Ascot last time.
The Upper Lambourn trainer found that Cedre Bleu had bled when pulled up in the race won by Royal Rebellion, but reports the gelding to be back on form now.
Mann will now prepare Cedre Bleu for the Aintree spectacular as he has performed creditably in two runs over the world famous fences.
Tenth behind Ma Filleule in the Topham Chase last April, Cedre Bleu was second to Poole Master in the Grand Sefton in early December.
"He bled at Ascot the other day. We've done some tests on him and he must have had something on him. He's never bled before so I don't know why he did it. He's fine now," said Mann.
"We'd like to run him in the National obviously and thankfully they've kept his mark up.
"We'll find somewhere to run him in March or the end of February."
