This afternoon's meeting at Uttoxeter will go ahead as scheduled after track officials brought forward a planned 8am inspection.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore announced a precautionary check on Friday due to the threat of overnight frost, but temperatures did not dip below freezing and the fixture has been given the green light.

Moore said: "Temperatures are actually dipping now we are getting towards to daybreak, but it's not going to give us a frost that is going to cause a problem.

"We had a bit of rain overnight and the ground is going to be very testing, but we're racing, which is the main thing."
