Jordanne Wiley is targeting a clean sweep of all four Grand Slam titles after her victory in the Ladies’ Wheelchair doubles final at Wimbledon on Sunday.

Wiley, 22, and her partner Yui Kamiji, 20, defeated Dutch duo Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot 2-6 6-2 7-5 to claim a first-ever success at SW19.

The win avenged defeat to the same opponents in last year’s Wimbledon final and also means Wiley and Kamiji have now won all three Grand Slam titles to date in 2014.

Victory at the US Open in September would complete a memorable clean sweep and Whiley is determined to now go on and achieve the feat.

“I really would love to do the clean sweep this year just like the opponents we played in the final (Griffioen and van Koot ) did last year, they did all four of them, beating us along the way as well,” Whiley told Sky Sports.

“I’m so happy, me and my partner Yui have stepped up the training, worked really hard and are on for the clean sweep.

“I couldn’t have done it without my team around me so I do have to say a big thank you to the people at the tennis foundation and also to UK sport because without their support I wouldn’t be doing this right now.

“I want more people to recognise wheelchair tennis because it is a fantastic sport; there’s not just me out there, there are some fantastic athletes in Britain and around the world.

“The tennis foundation have set up a new ‘Ticket to Toyko’ (initiative) which is trying to inspire new people to come and in and try the sport.”
