Paul Nicholls: Unable to work his team on Friday morning

Heavy snow in Somerset meant Paul Nicholls was unable to work his Ditcheat string on Friday morning.

The cold front which arrived in the early hours of Friday morning quickly claimed Saturday's Taunton card and the champion trainer was forced to give his powerful team a rare day off.

Writing in his exclusive column at www.betfair.com/paulnicholls he said: "For only the second time in 21 years here, we weren't able to work the horses this morning.

"We have had a lot of snow here and conditions are dreadful, but at least we managed to plan ahead with the forecast.

"So we worked the horses hard yesterday - suspecting that they may had to have a day in their boxes today - so today is like a lazy Sunday for them."
