San Francisco were dominant at the time and made it back-to-back Super Bowls by handing out a thrashing to John Elway and a Broncos team that lost its third Super Bowl in four years - at a combined score of 136-40! Joe Montana threw a record five touchdowns, three to Jerry Rice, in a record winning margin as he landed the MVP award for a third time and the 49ers picked up a fourth Vince Lombardi Trophy .
John McEnroe beat Jimmy Connors 6-1 6-1 6-2 - 1984 Wimbledon final
It could be John McEnroe's finest hour as he totally bullied one of his biggest rivals on the Centre Court at Wimbledon. Connors had beaten his fellow American in the final at SW19 two years earlier, but revenge was sweet as he delivered a masterclass of serve-and-volley to claim his third and final Wimbledon title in superb style.
Leeds Rhinos 52-16 London Broncos - 1999 Challenge Cup final
Leeds finally ended their 21-year wait for a major trophy in emphatic fashion with their rout of London Broncos in the 1999 Challenge Cup final. Leroy Rivett led the way as he became the first player to score four tries in a Wembley final - scooping the Lance Todd trophy for his performance - while Iestyn Harris landed a record-equalling eight goals. Harris was also among the try-scorers as he equalled another record with a 20-point haul, while Leeds made history with the highest score and the biggest winning margin. The score was a little harsh on the Broncos, who had only trailed 12-10 at the break before being blown away in the second half.
Phil Taylor 7-0 Peter Manley - 2002 and 2006 World Darts Championship finals
'The Power' is so good, not only has he won the world title 16 times but he has incredibly won four of those finals courtesy of whitewashes. He's done it to Dennis Priestley and John Part - but Manley has the distinction of being whitewashed twice in his two losing efforts. 'One Dart' was emerging as a decent challenger to Taylor, and certainly had plenty to say for himself, but after being whitewashed in 2002 he suffered the same fate again four years later.

We're going way back now but it remains a record victory in English football's biggest cup competition, with Bury coming out on top emphatically at Crystal Palace. Bury completed their FA Cup triumph without conceding a goal as well as they scored through George Ross, Charles Sagar, Joe Leeming (twice), William Wood and John Plant.
